Ongoing Support & Monitoring
Losing weight and keeping your energy up can feel like an uphill battle, especially as you get older. That’s why we created our nutrient-rich vitamin injections to give your body the extra support it needs. These stimulant-free shots help boost your energy, build lean muscle, and help your body burn fat faster.* They work best when combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
*Each individual’s results may vary based upon the circumstances and the patient’s specific situation.
Here’s a rundown of what’s in our vitamin shots:
This amino acid helps break down fat and aids with digestion. It increases your energy and muscle mass.
This vitamin supports cardiovascular health, and it may support mood and well-being
This nutrient is good for your heart health, liver, and nervous system. It also aids in hormone production.
This amino acid helps turn fat into fuel and improves your endurance.
This mineral supports healthy metabolism, and it supports body composition when combined with diet and exercise
We use 4 different B vitamins, which help convert food into energy. They’re also important for cell health, brain function, digestion, and more.
Your metabolism naturally slows down as you get older, making it harder to burn calories the way you used to. Stress, poor sleep, and hormonal changes can also make it tough to lose those extra pounds. Hormonal imbalances, including low testosterone, often contribute to weight gain and difficulty losing fat. Our hormone therapy programs can address these underlying factors. If diet and exercise alone aren’t getting you the results you want, our medically-supervised weight loss program can help you finally reach your goals. Have questions? Read our FAQs. We also offer at-home medication support across Virginia. Visit us at our Richmond, Newport News, or Virginia Beach clinic.
Understanding the Signs of Hormonal Imbalance
When you arrive for your appointment at our men’s clinic, your provider will conduct a health evaluation and assess your hormone levels at our on-site lab. You’ll even find out your lab results during the appointment! If necessary, your doctor will recommend an on-site EKG test to check for heart disease. He’ll prescribe any medications or explain any further tests.
Then, he’ll discuss a fitness and weight loss plan customized to you, including our exclusive vitamin “MIC” injections.

Both semaglutide and tirzepatide are GLP-1 medications used for physician-supervised weight loss. They work differently and suit different men. Here is a straightforward comparison — no marketing, just the clinical facts.
| Factor | Semaglutide | Tirzepatide |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | GLP-1 receptor agonist | GLP-1 and GIP dual agonist |
| FDA approval | Approved for weight management | Approved for weight management |
| Appetite reduction | Strong | Stronger for most men |
| Blood sugar support | Yes | Yes (dual mechanism) |
| Who it suits | Most men, strong starting option | Men who want stronger appetite control or have plateaued on semaglutide |
| Physician required | Yes | Yes |
The most important factor is not which medication is theoretically stronger — it is which one is appropriate for your health profile, lab results, and goals. Your physician at Men’s Wellness Centers reviews your same-day blood work before recommending either. Men who have plateaued on semaglutide often see better results switching to tirzepatide. Men starting fresh typically begin with semaglutide.
Both medications are physician-prescribed and supervised. Neither is available over the counter. Monthly monitoring is included in our program. No referral needed to get started.
Why Trust Men’s Wellness Centers for Weight Loss
Physician-supervised GLP-1 weight loss programs are not appropriate for all men. Semaglutide and tirzepatide are generally not recommended for men with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma, men with a history of pancreatitis, or men currently taking certain other medications. Side effects — most commonly nausea and digestive changes — are more pronounced in the early weeks of treatment.
Your physician reviews your complete health history and lab work before prescribing. If a GLP-1 program is not the right fit, your physician will discuss alternative approaches to weight management that may be more appropriate for your specific situation. We do not prescribe to everyone who asks — we prescribe to men for whom the treatment is clinically appropriate.
