What TRT actually costs in Virginia
Testosterone replacement therapy in Virginia runs between $150 and $500 per month. That range is wide because clinics structure their programs differently. Some charge separately for labs, office visits, and medications. Others bundle everything into one monthly or annual fee.
Knowing what’s included matters more than the sticker price.
What should be included in a TRT program
- Initial blood work and lab analysis
- Physician consultation and evaluation
- Prescribed medications
- Follow-up visits and ongoing monitoring
- Periodic lab rechecks and dosing adjustments
If a clinic quotes you $99/month but charges separately for labs every 8 weeks and office visits, the real cost is higher. Ask for the all-in number.
What affects TRT pricing
Clinic type is the biggest variable. Telehealth services tend to charge less because they have lower overhead, but you sacrifice in-person physician contact. Specialized men’s health clinics cost more but typically offer same-day labs and face-to-face care. Going through a urologist or endocrinologist may involve insurance coverage, but copays, referrals, and separate lab costs add up.
Medication type also matters. Injectable testosterone is generally the least expensive option. Topical gels cost more. Pellet implants carry a higher upfront cost but last several months per procedure.
Insurance rarely covers TRT in full. Most men pay out of pocket. HSA and FSA cards are accepted at most Virginia clinics, which helps.
Virginia TRT pricing by clinic type
- Telehealth providers: $99-$199/month, limited physician interaction, labs done at Quest or LabCorp
- In-person clinics: $200-$350/month, includes on-site labs and physician visits
- Comprehensive programs: $300-$500/month, everything bundled including ongoing monitoring
Virginia pricing tends to run lower than clinics in the Northeast or major metro areas like DC, New York, or Miami.
Is a free consultation worth it?
Several Virginia TRT clinics offer free initial consultations. At Men’s Wellness Centers, the free consultation includes a physician evaluation and same-day on-site lab work. That alone is valuable because you’ll know your actual testosterone levels before deciding on anything. At other clinics, “free consultation” sometimes just means a phone screening without blood work.
TRT at Men’s Wellness Centers
Men’s Wellness Centers structures TRT as an all-inclusive annual program at their three Virginia clinics: Richmond (Glen Allen), Newport News, and Virginia Beach. The initial consultation is free. FSA/HSA accepted. No hidden charges.
